Jennifer C. Settani-Stephens, Esq.

Jennifer joined Tenant Law Group in April 2023 as Advice Attorney. A highly skilled courtroom advocate who has appeared in court hundreds of times, her practice at Tenant Law Group currently focuses on counseling clients in landlord-tenant matters, advising them of their rights, and recommending a course of action to help them achieve their desired outcome.

Jennifer earned a Paralegal Certificate with Honors recognition from California State University Chico, an Associate of Arts Degree with High Honors in University Studies from College of the Redwoods, and a Bachelor of Arts cum laude with Honors in Social Science with a Minor in Political Science from California State University Chico, and a Juris Doctor from Taft School of Law. She has been licensed to practice law in California since 2014.

A dedicated public servant, since 2014, Jennifer has worked as Juvenile Dependency Counsel as a subcontractor for the State of California. She has worked as a subcontractor for the State of California as Family Law Minor’s Counsel from 2014, and a conflict Public Defender from 2014 to 2017. She has experience as a lead attorney for a non-profit juvenile dependency firm. She also has experience as a subcontractor for private firms as Special Education Counsel and Family Law/Dependency Crossover Counsel. In these roles, she has represented clients in juvenile dependency, family, criminal, special education, and probate matters. These roles primarily focused on litigation, where she gained experience in negotiations, legal writing, and appeals. She has two published appeals—both reversals in favor of her clients.

In addition to her law practice, Jennifer works as a law professor at her alma mater, Taft Law School, teaching civil procedure and evidence to second- and third-year law students.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and performing arts.

In addition to English, Jennifer speaks some French.
