
Paul M. Collins, Esq.
Paul joined Tenant Law Group in August 2022 as Trial Counsel. A highly skilled courtroom advocate who has personally tried over fifty cases to verdict before a jury, Paul dedicates one hundred percent of his practice to counseling clients in landlord-tenant matters, advising them of their rights, and recommending a course of action to help them achieve their desired outcome.
Paul has experience in both criminal and civil procedures. Prior to joining Tenant Law Group, he spent five years as a Deputy Public Defender at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office. He has worked most recently as a contract litigator for a civil litigation firm, assisting in multi-stage criminal and family law divorce proceedings. Paul also previously served as a volunteer attorney for Public Counsel, a public interest law firm, where he fought for low-income tenants facing unlawful detainer proceedings.
Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy with a Minor in Japanese Language summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, and his Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law. He is currently licensed to practice law in both California and Idaho.
Paul grew up in Florida, attended university in Tennessee and law school in California, and has also spent time living in Idaho and Arkansas.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys hiking, fishing, reading, and spending time with family.
In addition to English, Paul speaks some Japanese.
