Ralph A. Zappala, Esq.
Ralph A. Zappala, Esq. (Of Counsel) joined Tenant Law Group in April 2022 as Trial Counsel. An experienced trial attorney who has first chaired over forty trials in federal and state court, he dedicates one hundred percent of his practice at Tenant Law Group to helping tenants recover money damages following egregious landlord behavior.
Ralph’s experience includes employment defense litigation, products liability, mergers and acquisitions, fire losses, commercial unlawful detainer/breach of commercial leases and contracts, trucking collisions, franchise dissolutions, asbestos exposure, and HOA construction defects. He has filed seven appeals in state and federal court, participated in over twenty arbitrations, conducted hundreds of mediations and settlement conferences, organized extensive discovery, conducted thousands of depositions, and is regularly involved in law and motion practice.
Ralph earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Before joining Tenant Law Group, Ralph was a partner and senior trial counsel at Larson, Burnham and Trutner; partner and Commercial Litigation Chair at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith; and a shareholder at Busby Zappala & Sanchez.
In addition to his role as Tenant Law Group’s Trial Counsel, Ralph is also the owner of Ralph A. Zappala, a professional law corporation. He is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), where he has chaired the masters in trial practice committee as well as co-authored and presented “Social Media and Jury Selection: Is there an App for that?” Ralph has completed mediation coursework at UC Berkeley, prepared and presented “Mediating Commercial Disputes: Preparation and Best Practices” as part of The Bar Association of San Francisco’s CLE, and is an arbitration panel member for FINRA.
In addition to his native English, Ralph speaks some Italian.
