Stephanie Rivas
Controller
Stephanie first joined Tenant Law Group in August 2020 as Case Manager and rejoined the firm in September 2023 as Firm Accountant before being promoted to Controller. Her primary responsibilities are to ensure that all incoming expenses are coded accurately and that all closed matters are balanced in the firm’s books accurately; assist the Chief Financial Officer with the bank account reconciliation every month to ensure full compliance with California Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15 (Safekeeping Funds and Property of Clients and Other Persons), California Rule of Professional Conduct 1.4 (Communication with Clients), California Business & Professions Code sections 6211–6213 (regarding Funds for the Provision of Legal Services to Indigent Persons), and other applicable regulations relating to clients and money; and to assist with any bookkeeping or other finance-related tasks, such as advanced financial analysis and forecasting. Along with the Chief Financial Officer, Tax Strategist, and Settlement Coordinator, the Firm Controller is a member of the firm’s Financial Team.
Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the José Simeón Cañas Central American University in El Salvador.
Before rejoining Tenant Law Group, Stephanie worked exclusively as a finance professional and analyst. She worked as a Financial Planning Coordinator for Teleperformance, where she was focused on financial reporting and analysis of revenue streams, gross margin, and other financial data for executive review; as a B2B Enterprise Offer Design Specialist at Tigo El Salvador, where she focused on pricing analysis; and as a Strategic Development Analyst at Aeroman, where she prepared and presented to the executive manager analysis and proposals for financial, commercial, and operational improvements. She also previously worked as a data and reporting analyst, evaluating key performance indicators to improve processes, managing projects and personnel, and engaging with high performing teams.
Stephanie enjoys being part of a team, facing new challenges, and exploring new ways to innovate and improve productivity. Hardworking and determined, she is constantly striving to improve all aspects of her personal and professional life.
She enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling with friends and family.
Fully bilingual, Stephanie is a native speaker of Spanish, but is fluent in English and also has a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
